Regular recitals: JEMS Flute Studio and The Walnut Ridge Music Society Adult Studio
With over thirty years of teaching experience, Julie has developed a passion for making music an integral part of life. After graduating Magna Cum Laude from Olivet University is 1991 with an Education degree and emphases in music and language arts, Julie taught school and private lessons simultaneously. She developed studios in Houston, Texas, and several areas around Illinois before settling into her Hinsdale Studio for the past ten years. She performed with her three flute-playing daughters and now shares the flute portion of her studio with her daughter, Elizabeth. Julie has played in the Kankakee Valley Symphony Orchestra, Parkland Symphony Orchestra, the Grace Trio and multiple chamber groups, She recently formed Grace Notes, a new flute choir which includes her daughters and adult flute students. Julie served on the board of the Chicago Flue Club as well as editing the Chicago Flute Club Pipeline publication, and is now finishing a Masters Degree in English and Creative Writing. She has created a mystery series entitled The Wilson Lane Musical Society, where murder and mayhem occur amidst the background of the professional world of the musician. Soon to be published is the short story, "Death at the Old Temple."
